Muthoni Garland is the Managing Editor of Storymoja Publishers. She formerly worked as a brand strategist in advertising, and then ran her own market research company, and more recently, worked as a consultant with the Steadman Group. But her true love is reading and writing. Her fiction has been published in Kwani? Chimurenga (SA) and in several American and British literary journals and anthologies. Her story, Tracking the Scent of My Mother was nominated for the 2006 (UK based) Caine Prize, and was amongst the first books published by Storymoja. She is also a member of Concerned Kenyan Writers, a coalition of writers formed after the post-election violence whose purpose is to use their writing skills to help save Kenya in this polarized time.
By the way be sure to check out her new book "Halfway between Nairobi & Dundori"- In this book Muthoni Garland defies all odds of literature to create what i call a coup de theatre. She intrexicably intertwines extreme reality and intense humour to bring a unity of trinity...... go ahead and save up for the book
